Some materials are chosen for their beauty. Others for their character.

Himalaya leather is admired for its distinctive colour transitions, where light and dark shades blend naturally to create depth and individuality. No two pieces are exactly alike, giving every belt its own unique expression.

At Graae Copenhagen, we combine carefully selected leather with Italian craftsmanship to create timeless accessories designed to be worn and appreciated for years to come.

Because true luxury lies in the details.

The "Himalaya crocodile" is not a type of crocodile, but rather a reference to the unique dyeing process used on certain Hermès bags. The name "Himalaya" refers to the bag's colour, which is achieved by dyeing Niloticus crocodile skin to resemble the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountains. The colour gradation typically ranges from a smoky grey/brown to a pearly white. These bags, often Birkin’s or Kellys, are highly coveted for their distinctive look and intricate craftsmanship.

The Himalaya dyeing process is challenging and time-consuming, making the resulting bags rare and expensive. The colour transition from dark to light is meant to mimic the appearance of the Himalayas.
