The alligator skin we use comes from farms in Louisiana, USA. Graae Copenhagen's suppliers have committed to the highest standards of responsibility in accordance with the CITES agreement and have assured that such farms in Louisiana contribute to the stable growth of wild alligators and thus protect this endangered species.

For the alligator belts, we use skin parts from the animal's stomach and parts of the tail. For this reason, on average, about 2 to 3 strips can be cut from one skin, and it takes up to 80 steps, partly done by hand, to produce an alligator belt.
